Asset Management keeps track of your organisation's things and places: sites, buildings, floors, rooms and hallways, and the equipment, furniture, tools and vehicles in them. Every item and every place has a tag or code, such as PROJ-001 or CO-TR1, and a QR label with it.
Use it to:
- see what is on loan or hire to you, and give hired items back;
- scan a label to find out what something is, and what you can do with it;
- hire or book an item you are allowed to, without asking anyone;
- for the people who look after things: issue items, count places, answer requests from the service desk, and keep the register right.
Open it
Open Asset Management from the applications menu in the bar at the top, or from Core home. In the sandbox, sign in with the demo login; the Demo menu in the bar lets you see Asset Management as another role.
What you see depends on your access level
Your access level shows beside the Asset Management title. Screens it does not include are not shown.
| Access level | What it gives you |
|---|---|
| Employee | Your own loans and hires; hire or book an item you are allowed to, from its label or the list |
| Site Operator | As Employee, plus the register and places: issue, take back, move and count items, run stocktakes, answer service desk requests, and reports |
| Auditor | Reads and exports every item, place, history and report, and the audit trail. Changes nothing, and sees no purchase values |
| Asset Administrator | Everything: the register, categories, places, labels, hire rules and approvals, disposal, import and export, and settings |
