Training keeps track of what each role needs, and whether each person is ready for each of their roles. Someone who drives and also trains crews has two roles, and each has its own requirements: an expired driving credential says nothing about their training work.
You find and book sessions here, ask for learning, and see your credentials. Trainers record who attended, and approved attendance is paid by Payroll as time for the role it was for.
Open it
Open Training from the applications menu in the bar at the top, or from Core home. In the sandbox, sign in with the demo login: you start as a training administrator, and the Demo menu in the bar lets you see Training as another role.
What you see depends on your access level
Your access level shows beside the Training title. Screens it does not include are not shown.
| Access level | What it gives you |
|---|---|
| Learner | Your own learning, places, credentials and readiness |
| Line Manager | As Learner, plus the people you manage: their readiness, and deciding their place and learning requests |
| Trainer | As Learner, plus the rosters of the sessions you teach: attendance and results |
| Auditor | Reads every learner, session and report, and the audit trail; changes nothing and sees no costs |
| Training Administrator | Courses, requirements, sessions, places, attendance approval, evidence and credentials, import and export |
| Training Lead | As Training Administrator, plus training costs and budgets, approving training spend, readiness overrides and the settings |
The menu
- Home: your readiness, your requests and places, and what is waiting for you.
- Sessions: sessions to come, and each session's roster.
- Learners and Due and expired: for managers, administrators and auditors.
- Courses and requirements: what each role needs, and the courses that meet it.
- Evidence: learning done elsewhere, waiting to be checked.
- Reports, HR and Payroll, Settings and Audit: for the people who run training.
The bell in the bar tells you when a request is waiting for your decision, when yours is decided, when attendance or evidence waits for approval, and when a credential is due for renewal or has expired.
