A dependency says one item cannot start until another is finished.
Add one
- Open the item that waits.
- Under Depends on, choose This department or All items.
- Type in Search items to depend on… and choose the item.
The cross beside a dependency removes it.
The rules
- An item cannot start before the item it depends on is due. If the dates clash, the change is refused, and the message names both items. Move one of the dates first.
- An item cannot depend on itself, and dependencies cannot go round in a circle.
- A dependency never stops anyone changing an item's status. It is there to plan with.
