Goals shows the cascade: the organisation's goals at the top and, under each, the goals that support it, down to individual goals. Each goal has a level: Organisation, Department, Team or Individual.
Find a goal
Filter with Find a goal, Level, and Show: My goals and what they support or At risk or overdue. Each goal shows its owner, due date, KPI progress and how many CSFs are met or at risk.
Set a goal
- HR, or the person at the top of the organisation, can choose Set an organisation goal.
- Managers can choose Set a goal for my area.
- For one person, set it from their review with Set a goal.
Then:
- Fill in the Goal and its Level.
- In Supports, type to find the goal above it. A goal sits at the same level as the goal it supports, or below.
- Say How it helps the goal it supports.
- Set when it is Due, and add any Detail.
- Tick It needs learning: tell Training if a course is needed to achieve it.
- Add its measures with Add a KPI or CSF:
- a KPI has a starting figure (From), a Target, a Unit, and whether it is Better when it Rises or Falls;
- a CSF is a short statement of what must be true.
- Choose Set the goal.
Follow it
Open a goal to see What it supports, its KPIs and CSFs, and What supports it. The goal's owner records each KPI's figure with Record, and each CSF's state with Update. Whoever set the goal can also Add a KPI or CSF or Change what it supports.
The 9-box grid
Managers and HR have a 9-box grid tab. It places each person you manage (everyone, for HR) by their latest major review: performance across, potential up. Choose a name to open the review.
