Void a sale
- Open the receipt: on Transactions, choose View, or Void on its row.
- Under Corrections, choose Void this sale.
- Choose a Reason code and write the Explanation (stored on the audit trail).
- A supervisor approves under Supervisor authorisation.
- Choose Void sale and record reversal.
The original stays on file marked Voided, and the void document takes the next receipt number. For a cash sale, the till tells you how much to take out of the box. Reverse any card part on your card terminal.
Once the session is closed, a sale can no longer be voided: give a refund instead.
Give a refund
- Open the receipt and choose Refund…, or Refund on its row in Transactions.
- Set the Refund qty for each item. Set it to 0 for items not being refunded.
- Choose the Refund method: Cash from the lock box, Back to the original card, or Split: part cash, part card with the Cash portion (split only).
- Choose a Reason code, write the explanation, and have a supervisor approve.
- Choose Process refund.
The refund receipt opens. An item cannot be refunded more times than it was sold. Cash refunds come out of the box and show at the Z read; make any card refund on your card terminal.
