Closing a project makes it, and everything inside it, read-only. You need a role that can close projects.
Close a project
- Open Hierarchy (the cog beside Workspace).
- On the project's row, choose Close project (the padlock).
- Write a Closure summary (optional), such as how it ended.
- Choose Close project.
The project shows closed, and the nodes inside it locked. Items cannot be added, changed or deleted, and boards show a red banner. Comments and resource links stay open. Any node except a department can be closed.
The closure report
A closure report is captured when you close. View closure report shows who closed it and when, the summary, the Total items, how many were Outstanding, the Sub-containers, the Lead, the First item, the Last activity, and the items By status.
Reopen
Reopen project makes it editable again. Its report is kept, marked as since reopened.
Archive
A closed project is archived automatically after 30 days, unless your administrator has changed that. Archive now does it straight away. An archived project leaves the hierarchy, the boards and the reports.
Under Archived in the menu, Projects lists them, with Report for the closure report and Unarchive to bring one back.
In the sandbox, Intranet Refresh is closed and Legacy Phone System Retirement is archived.
