Audit trail is for supervisors and administrators. It lists everything that happened: sales and corrections, cash movements, reads, approvals given and refused, exports, customer records and configuration changes.
Find an entry
Filter by Search, Action, Person, From and To; Clear removes the filters. Choose a row to see its detail, including the before and after values of a configuration change.
The chain
Each entry holds a hash of the entry before it, worked out by the database with a key the till itself cannot read. If a past entry were edited or removed, the chain would break. The pill at the top says Audit chain verified, or where the chain is broken. Choose Re-verify chain to check it again.
Nobody can edit or remove an entry. Export to Excel… downloads the trail with the columns you choose.
