Payroll does not keep its own copy of who works where. It receives that from HR and Training, and tells them what was paid.
What Payroll receives
- From HR: people, their employments and roles, pay agreements (rates from a date), and absence that affects pay.
- From Training: readiness for each role, and approved training attendance as time to pay.
Records from HR are read-only in Payroll: change them in HR.
What Payroll sends
- To HR: each person's finalised outcome for each role.
- To Training: the wage cost of training time.
Never net pay, deductions, tax or bank details.
The HR and Training page
When Payroll is connected to Core, records travel through Core's relay by themselves. The page shows Connected to Core, when records were last collected and sent, and Collect and send now to do it straight away.
When it runs on its own, it shows Standalone: records travel as files. Choose a file, then Check the file to see what it holds, and Take it in. File of outcomes for HR and File of training costs for Training download what Payroll sends.
Records that need a decision
Records Payroll cannot match, or that conflict with what it holds, wait under Waiting for a decision, with the problem. Home says when there are any. Choose Try them again once the cause is fixed, or Dismiss one that is not needed.
Tasks from Flow
Some Flow processes, such as onboarding a new starter, include a step for Payroll. People who edit workers see them on Home under Tasks from Flow. Choose Accept, then Done with an optional outcome, or Decline with a reason. The answer goes back to the process.
