Design a code: colours, logo and call to action

Change how a code looks without changing what it holds, and save designs to reuse.

Updated 31 October 2026

Editors change a code's look under Design on its page:

  • Modules and Background: the colours.
  • Module style: Square, Rounded or Dots.
  • Error correction: M (the default), Q or H. Higher levels survive more damage but make the code denser.
  • Margin, modules: from 4 to 10.
  • Put the organisation's logo in the middle, with Logo size, % of the code: 10% by default, 20% at most. A logo uses error correction H. An administrator adds the logo in Settings.
  • Call to action under the code, such as Scan to book.

Choose Save the design. A design change makes a new image, but never changes what the code holds or its address. A design that would not scan reliably is refused, with the reason.

Saved designs

To reuse a design, type a name in Save this design as and choose Save preset. On another code, choose it in Use a saved design and choose Apply.
