Read the analytics

What the figures count, what they do not, and how to read the charts.

Updated 31 October 2026

Open Analytics from the menu, or from a dynamic code's or a campaign's page.

What is counted

The figures are requests to codes' addresses: link visits, not verified camera scans. Opening or sharing a code's link counts too. Every request is put in a class:

FigureWhat it is
Eligible visitsA plausible person's request that was sent on to the destination or the alternative link
Link previews and unfurlsA chat, mail or social platform fetching the link to draw a preview
Visits sent to the alternative linkVisits outside the code's schedule
Status page viewsRequests answered with a paused, archived, withdrawn, not-yet-started or ended page

Crawlers, monitors, internal previews and other requests are listed under Every request, by class. Repeats by the same estimated visitor within a few seconds (10 unless an administrator changes it) count as one eligible visit. None of these figures is a count of people, and unique visitors are an estimate.

Choose the codes and the dates

Choose Visits from: the last 7, 30 or 90 days, the last 12 months, or These dates with From and To. Choose Group by (Hour, Day, Week or Month) and then Show. On the main Analytics page, the Which codes panel chooses the codes. The filters choose which codes; the dates choose which visits.

What the page shows

  • Totals for the range.
  • Eligible visits over time, with the same figures under Show as a table. Changes made to a code are marked on the chart.
  • Eligible visits by device, browser, system and country. Countries are approximate.
  • When people visit: day of the week against hour of the day.
  • Where visits came from: the referring site, when the browser sends one. A printed code usually sends none, so "unknown or direct" is expected.

Older ranges are shown from daily totals only, without the breakdowns. If recording failed for part of the range, Missing data lists the gap; those requests are not estimated. Download CSV downloads the figures.
