Every item needs a category. If there are none yet, add them first in Settings: see Settings: categories and the longest hire.
Add one item
On Register, choose Add an item and fill in:
- Name and Category: type to search;
- Tag (empty: the next one): leave it empty for the next tag in the category's series, such as PROJ-001, PROJ-002. A tag never changes and is never reused;
- Serial number, if the category needs one; Make and Model;
- Where it is and Home place: type a place or its code;
- Warranty until, Purchase value and Condition;
- under Hire, whether People can hire it from its label, and the rest of its hire rule (see Hire rules and approvals).
Choose Add it. The item is made with its label, ready to print.
To change an item later, open it and choose Change. Its tag cannot change: give it a New label instead if the label is damaged.
Import a file
Choose Import. A CSV file has a header row with these columns, of which name and category are needed:
tag, name, category, place, serial, manufacturer, model, warranty_until, purchase_value, condition, hireable
Category is a category's name, and place is a place's code. A JSON file is a list of the same. Up to 2,000 rows at a time.
Choose Preview first. It lists any problem by row. Nothing is added unless every row is right. Then choose Add them.
Take in a goods receipt
When a delivery arrives, choose Take in a receipt. Fill in the Category, Item name, how many units were Accepted and Rejected, the Serial numbers (one per accepted unit, one per line) and the place they go Into.
Choose Preview, then Take it in. One item is made for each accepted unit. Taking the same receipt in again makes none, and rejected units never become items.
