Report a fault in a building, room or piece of equipment

Everyone reports faults through Service Desk; Facilities picks the work up from there.

Updated 31 October 2026

You do not need access to Facilities to get something fixed. Report it on Service Desk, and follow it on your ticket.

Report it

What happens next

  1. The desk routes the work to Facilities: see Route a ticket to Asset Management or Facilities.
  2. A job appears in Facilities as new, with the desk's short summary as its title.
  3. Facilities triages it, assigns it and does the work. Each step is sent back to the desk, and your ticket shows where the work has got to.
  4. When the work is verified, the desk checks with you that it is fixed before your ticket is resolved.

If you work in Facilities

When you scan a label, Core's scan page shows what Facilities offers for that item or place. If your access level logs jobs, choose Log a Facilities job: see Log a job. If you can see the work on it, its open jobs are listed too.
